Qme ("we", "our", or "us") runs the Qme app for iPhone, iPad and Android phones and the Qme web pages you reach by scanning a business's QR code. Qme lets you take a place in a line, follow a food order until it is ready for pickup, and book a time. This page explains what we collect, why, who else is involved, and how long we keep it. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps or websites, and the app has no analytics or crash-reporting tools. Our public website home page counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics (see below).
No sign-up needed. When you open Qme or scan a code, we create an anonymous account ID for your device. It is what makes a ticket, order or booking yours, so no one else can change or cancel it. It contains no name, email or phone number.
Your name. When you join a line or book a time, you can give a name so the business knows who to call. It is stored with that ticket or booking and shown to that business.
Tickets, orders and bookings. We store what you joined or booked: the business, the service, your number, the times, and its status (for example waiting, called, ready or collected), so the business and you can see it live.
Ratings and comments. After a visit you may rate it and leave a short comment. The business sees it.
Push notifications. If you allow notifications, we store your device's push address with your ticket, order or booking so we can tell you it is your turn, your order is ready, or your booking is coming up or was changed. On iPhone and iPad, Apple (Apple Push Notification service) delivers these notifications; on Android, Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) does. You can turn them off at any time in your device's Settings.
Location. If you allow it, Qme uses your location, only while the app is open and never in the background, to show places near you and how long it takes to get there. Your location is not stored on our servers. To draw the map and work out the drive time, the app asks the map and routing services listed below; they receive the area you are looking at, and for drive times your approximate position and the destination.
Camera. Used only to scan QR codes. No photos or video are stored or sent.
Contacting a business. Qme does not ask for your phone number or email. If a business lists a phone number, you can tap to message, WhatsApp or call it; that opens your own app, and Qme does not see or store the conversation.
Accounts (optional). If you choose to sign in, with an email address and password or, on iPhone and iPad, with Sign in with Apple, we store your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address) and your display name.
We store your account email, your business details (name, address and location on the map, opening hours, services, logo and settings; the logo is stored in Firebase Storage), and the tickets, orders and bookings your customers make with you. If you subscribe in the app, the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Google Play Billing) processes the payment; we store the store's purchase token and a hash of it, the order ID and your subscription status, and we do not receive your card details. Subscriptions bought on our website are processed by Stripe.
If your business switches on the text and WhatsApp messages add-on, your staff can add a customer's phone number to a ticket so the customer gets a "your turn" message, which we send through Plivo. That number is used only for that message and is kept with the ticket as described below.
Saved customers and contacts. A business can keep a list of its own customers (a name and phone number, and optionally an email and a note) to message them and book them in. The owner can type people in, save them from a booking, or choose them from the phone's contacts. Contacts are read on the device only when the owner taps Import and allows access on their phone; only the people the owner ticks and confirms are uploaded (their name, phone number and email address), and Qme does not upload an address book. This list is visible only to that business (and to us for support), is used only for messaging and booking, and is deleted when the business or its account is deleted. The messages themselves are sent by the owner's own Messages, WhatsApp, Telegram or Phone app, not by Qme.
Protection against abuse: To keep fake sign-ups and automated traffic out of queues and orders, Qme checks that requests come from the genuine app or website (Firebase App Check). On iPhone and iPad this uses Apple's App Attest, and on Android Google Play Integrity. On the web it uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks signals from your browser and device, such as your IP address and browser details, to tell people from bots. It runs in the background without asking you to solve a puzzle. Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and the Turnstile Privacy Addendum apply to this check.
You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app (as a customer: Profile → Account → Delete account; as a business: Settings → App & support → Delete account), without the app at joinqme.com/delete-account, or by emailing us. When you delete a customer account, we remove your name, phone number, email, notes, language, account ID and notification tokens from your tickets, bookings and orders, cancel anything still ahead of you, and delete the comments you wrote. What is left can no longer be linked to you: the business keeps a record that a visit happened (the service, the times and the outcome, and a star rating without its comment) for its own statistics, for the periods listed above. Deleting a business also deletes its tickets and bookings. You can leave a line or cancel a booking yourself, turn off notifications and location in your device's Settings, and ask us for a copy of your data or to correct it.
Qme does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app does not contain content directed at children.
